  1. Dosage is a very important factor when it comes to consuming ayurvedic medicines. Here the ingredients present are powerful and one has to observe as not to take overdose of the medicine. The dosage however is finally decided by the doctor. This is based on several crierias. The chief ones include strength of medicine, strength of other medicines prescribed, age of the patient, toleration capacity of the patient, place of the patient, dosha of the patient's body, height and weight of the patient and the disease for which the condition is treated for. This is the reason why dosage precribed by an ayurvedic physician is sometimes different from that suggested in the label of the product. When a patient consumes a medicine on self without doctor's consultation, expected outcome is not seen due to these factors.

  2. DOsage actually plays a vital role in giving results for a medicine.
Diabetes is a disorder in which usually there are multiple symptoms or minor ailments are usually associated with so here this is doctors intellect that how the dosage is to be given and what actually should be the anupana of that.
Sometimes if a patient has hypertension also then naturally we have to think of balancing the vata as well as pitta content so the dosage varies from the normal one and with combination of sarpgandha or jatamansi the dosage would reduce a bit.
Also proper monitoring of the patient sugar levels is important as it helps the patient as well as the doctor to be more clear about the dosage and the duration for course of treatment.,
The prakruti as well as vikruti is the best judge for deciding the dosage for a patient.

  3. The dosage of Madunashini vati is decided based on the type of diabetes and the blood sugar levels.
The stages and type of diabetes can be broadly classified as prediabetic stage, type1 diabetes and type2 diabetes. It can be taken in the dose of one tablet twice daily after food twice daily in the prediabetic stage. It can be taken as 2tablets twice daily in type1 diabetes along with the insulin injections. It can be taken as 1tablet thrice daily if the blood sugar is under control and 2tablets twice daily if the blood sugar level is more than the normal level in type2 diabetes. If the blood sugar level is very high, other medicines can also be added to it.
The blood sugar levels are controlled in a better way with proper diet and exercise. So do eat healthy food with complex carbohydrates and fiber to control the blood sugar levels. Do have regular checkups as advised by your treating doctor to know the sugar level and to adjust the dosage.
Adjusting the dosage is very important to prevent hypoglycemia. It helps to prevent complications due to diabetes.
